Lynn Golden Lynn was born in Hertfordshire in 1958 and trained at St Albans School of Art before moving down to Cornwall. She is an extremely talented artist who together with fellow artist Chris Insoll founded the Portscatho Society of Arts in 1984. Lynn specialises in painting Landscape and Still Life pictures. Her subject very much depends on the weather. If it is fine Lynn will be outdoors, somewhere on the Roseland Peninsula painting Landscapes. However, if the weather is bad, Lynn retreats to her studio in St Just in Roseland and concentrates her energies on Still Life subjects. The driving force behind Lynn's art is her fascination with colour and light. "Whether out on site or in front of a table of flowers, I use the subject as a point from which to dive off along a journey of colour, light and form exploration, never being a slave to the subject but using it to create my picture." One of the
most distinguishing features of Lynn's art is her bold use of colour,
juxtaposing saturated colours to maximise the visual impact. Her use of
soft pastels - a very direct medium of almost pure pigment - allows her
to create the depth and variety of colour she requires. Visit her Gallery |
